It is designed to offer ballistic protection while maintaining a professional appearance. Below is a description of the Class A body armor uniform vest manufactured by Princip Defense, LLC.
Our Class A body armor uniform vest combines functionality, comfort, and a polished appearance. It is typically worn over the officer's or security professional's standard uniform shirt. The vest is constructed using high-quality Level IIIA armor, designed to resist penetration from a variety of projectiles, including stab/slash and firearms up to .44 magnum.
The front and back panels of the vest provide coverage and protection for vital areas, including the chest, back, and sides. The panels are concealed within a durable and lightweight outer fabric that matches the color and design of the standard uniform shirt.
The Class A body armor vests features adjustable straps or closures at the sides and shoulders, allowing for a customized and secure fit. These adjustable features ensure that the vest remains in place during physical activities while offering flexibility and ease of movement.
In addition to ballistic protection, Class A body armor vests also incorporate additional features to enhance functionality. This includes pockets or attachment points for carrying equipment such as radios, handcuffs, or extra ammunition.
The overall design of a Class A body armor uniform vest emphasizes professionalism, blending seamlessly with the officer's or security professional's uniform. The vest is sleek and streamlined, maintaining a neat appearance while providing reliable protection.

Soft body armor Level IIIA refers to a specific level of protection defined by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) standard, which sets the standards for ballistic resistance in body armor. Level IIIA is the highest level of protection offered by soft armor and is designed to protect against various handgun threats.
Here are some key features and characteristics of Level IIIA soft body armor:
-
Ballistic Protection: Level IIIA soft body armor is designed to provide protection against most standard handgun rounds, including 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP, as well as lesser caliber rounds. It can also offer partial protection against some higher velocity rounds like .357 SIG and .44 Magnum.
-
Construction: Level IIIA soft body armor typically consists of multiple layers of woven or laminated aramid fibers, such as Kevlar or Twaron, or other high-performance synthetic materials. These materials are known for their excellent strength-to-weight ratio and ability to absorb and distribute the energy of a bullet impact.
-
Weight and Flexibility: Soft body armor is lightweight and flexible compared to hard armor plates. This allows for increased mobility and comfort for the wearer. Level IIIA soft armor is generally less bulky and more concealable, making it suitable for undercover law enforcement officers or individuals who require covert protection.
-
Coverage: Level IIIA soft body armor provides protection to vital areas of the body, including the chest, back, and sometimes side panels. The coverage can vary depending on the specific design and style of the armor.
It's important to note that Level IIIA soft body armor is not designed to protect against rifle rounds or armor-piercing ammunition. For protection against rifle threats, higher levels of armor, such as Level III or Level IV, which typically incorporate hard armor plates, are required. It's crucial to select the appropriate level of protection based on the specific threat environment and the needs of the user. Additionally, proper fit and regular inspection of body armor are essential for maintaining its effectiveness.

Replaced Safariland
I replaced my Safariland for these after receiving a sample. The vest is very comfortable and does not restrict movement. The inserts are easy to remove for washing the vest. I would like to buy another vest without armor.
